At our last meeting we were taught the reasons why we should submit to governing authorities. Paul informs us that God gives this authority to governing figures. We should therefore be submissive because of this fact, as well as the simple fact of avoiding punishment. It is often easy to dismiss authority, especially when we feel that they are in the wrong, but even then we are to have "reverance" because God commands it.
