This is creepy

Nothing like wearing a head on your head. This is the Raider foamhead offering at the NFL store.

Flee from Adultery!

Ansel led us through Matthew 5:27-30 where Jesus explains that sin is not just a matter of the act, but the intent or the heart of the person, which raises the bar for everyone. And given the rather small percentage of Christians with eye patches and hooks for hands (my apologies to any Christians with eye patches or hooks for hands), we're not to take verses 29 and 30 literally, but understand both the difficultly in removing sin from our lives and the gravity of having sin in our lives.

Thanks to everyone for rolling with our new schedule, thanks to Ben for a wonderful worship set and to our wonderful cooks, Sam and Justin for yummy curry! A big thank you to the Mo's for the 6000x growth gifts they brought for the fellowship group. I'll post pics of my dinos when I get a chance. We were able to stop at 9:30 to break up into huddles and pray for one another and for our upcoming retreat this month.

Next week is huddles! Please speak to your quarterback if they haven't spoken to you yet about next week.

Leftovers @ LSFG SJ

This is what we do with leftovers at LSFG SJ. MMMmmmmMmmMmmm....

Fruitpicking in Brentwood

Thanks, James for organizing a fun day of fruit picking! We had a good time picking peaches, plums, and crab apples. Next year, we'll go earlier in the season so that we can get some cherries and strawberries, too. We'll also look for that lollipop tree and, of course, the money tree...

We're back!

The LSFG San Jose blog is back. Ansel and Yukari are very excited at this announcement. We'll post tidbits of information, Bible study follow up and announcements made in fellowship group so you have a place to get your LSFG:SJ fix.

We will continue to use evite to get head count and as a reminder to everyone, but the blog is back. Be a part of the peanut gallery.

Fellowship on 4/23

Hello everyone. This week, Pastor Josh will be guest leading bible study, so be on your best behavior! Vincent and Bonnie will be heading out to Dallas this week, so pray for a safe journey for them. And we're having a hike to Mission Peak as our fellowship activity this month, this Saturday.

We're going to meet at 9:30 in the staging area. Here's some info about Misson Peak.

http://www.ci.fremont.ca.us/Recreation/MissionPeak/default.htm

The plan is to hike to the summit, take some pictures and eat lunch up there, then hike back down. Plan on about 6 hours total to start to finish. (That's going to be a long day).

Please send RSVP to Jeff Whalen if you're interested (that's me).

This week at LSFG:SJ

We're having a study! 1Cor 12:12-12:31 (BBS #29 for those of you keeping track). If you've got a little time, give it a little read and let God speak to you. I'm sure he'll bless you with something to share with everyone tonight.

Is a banana a berry and does it grow on a bush?

Yes, the banana fruit is a berry. Berries are identified as being many seeded with a fleshy inner layer. So, technically a banana is a berry. And, believe it or not, bananas don't grow on trees! Originally from Asia, the "banana tree" is really not a tree in the true sense. In fact, banana plants have no wood fiber. The banana plant is the world's largest herb and a member of the lily family. Bananas grow in tropical areas all around the world where the weather is sunny and hot, and there's plenty of rain.

Huddles this week!

I guess we're all on the same schedule as the other small groups. There's no new study up on the website, so we're all about the huddles this week.

I'm also going to open up some time for sharing about what we did this last week to change a little something in our lives and showing our commitment to Him.

Doesn't have to be much and if you didn't change anything, share that too. No shame. It's not mandated. Yet :)

See you all in a few hours!
